Editorial policy

RestMania aims to publish travel content that is inspiring, accurate and genuinely useful. This policy explains how we research and maintain it.

How we research

• Every article starts with a clear reader question: where to go, how to plan, what it costs, or what to know.
• Facts that change, such as prices, visa and entry rules, transport and opening hours, are checked against official or authoritative sources, which we cite at the end of the article.
• Budgets always state the currency, the period of the estimate and what is included. They are estimates, not guarantees.
• Itineraries state their assumptions, such as trip length, pace and season, and follow geographically sensible routes.

Updates and corrections

Articles that contain time-sensitive details show a “last updated” date. We review our guides regularly and whenever readers tell us something has changed. If we make a significant factual correction, we update the article promptly. To report an error, email hello@restmania.com.

What we don’t publish

• Invented first-hand experiences, reviews, quotes, statistics or sources.
• Headlines that promise more than the article delivers.
• Thin articles published only to target a search term.

Use of AI

We may use AI tools to help with research, drafting and images. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked and edited before publication, and we are responsible for everything we publish. Images created with AI are illustrative and are not presented as photographs of a specific real moment.

Images

We use images we create ourselves, AI-generated images that are clearly labelled, and photographs by other creators that are licensed for reuse (such as Creative Commons photos from Wikimedia Commons). Third-party photos are credited on the article where they appear and listed on our image credits page. Every image has descriptive alternative text for accessibility.

Advertising and affiliates

Advertising and affiliate partnerships help fund RestMania, but they never determine our recommendations. Sponsored content is clearly labelled. Read our full disclosure.
